Preparing your newborn session
Those very first days pass so quickly. For a session full of softness and serenity, here are a few simple tips. The essential: come relaxed and trust me, I take care of everything else.
The right window and booking
The ideal window is between 5 and 15 days old, when your baby still sleeps a lot and curls up easily. The best is to book during pregnancy, to be sure of keeping your place. Past that point, no worries: after discussing it together, we still do the session, or adapt it into a lovely baby-and-newborn session.
Duration and punctuality
The duration is always given in advance, but I deliberately allow a little margin, because I always adapt to your baby's pace. That is exactly why arriving on time matters: it gives us all the time we need, without ever rushing anything.
Before coming
Plan to arrive with your baby fed as close to the session as possible: with a full tummy, they sleep more deeply and let themselves be handled with all gentleness. And of course, if needed, we take as many feeding and cuddle breaks as necessary.
A small detail that changes everything: avoid dressing your baby in tight clothes just before coming (elastics, snug bodysuits), so there are no little marks on their skin at photo time.
What you bring
Everything your baby needs is ready on site: outfits, wraps, bonnets, baskets and props. On your side, simply bring a pacifier, a bib, a muslin cloth, a brush, plenty of nappies (babies often go through several during a session!) and everything for changing, wipes included.
The parents' outfits
To stay in the timeless spirit I hold dear, I recommend light colours: white, beige or pastel, as much as possible. These soft shades beautifully enhance your baby and give luminous images that never go out of style. And for mums, I also have a selection of gowns at your disposal, if you wish.
Who is in the photos
The session always includes lovely moments with the parents. Photos with siblings depend on the chosen collection (it is specified each time). A tip for older siblings: a newborn session can be long and a little tiring for them. The best is for them to arrive with dad about 45 minutes before the end, just in time for their photos without unnecessary waiting.
How it unfolds
We move forward calmly, at your baby's pace, in a quiet, cocooning atmosphere. The number of set-ups and poses depends on the length of the session. The idea is never to race, but to create delicate images in complete comfort for your baby.
A session at home
The session can also take place at your home, under certain conditions. Tell me about it and we will see together what can be arranged.
After the session
You receive your private online gallery within two working weeks. These first images are too precious to stay on a screen: a newborn album to leaf through, a lovely framed print in the nursery… I will be delighted to guide you towards the keepsake that feels like you.
